he's seated on the ground, back resting against the side of a square column. his dragonair is vigilant beside him, though his state of calm is beginning to wear off on her too. it's been quiet for a while now, tiringly so, and he doesn't know if he should be grateful or itching for a battle, to be more of a contribution than just, well, sitting here.

he lets his head fall back slightly to watch his noivern on the ceiling, out of sight unless you knew to check. another glance around tells him he's still alone with his pokemon, and marcel lets out a long breath.

e found himself in the upper distract of Slateport City for the first time since arriving in Hoenn, and he was positive it wasn't going to be his last. For this particular visit, he had to put off the sightseeing and focus on the task at hand. Leonard moved his hand to his hip and slight grazed over his two Pokeballs, they were probably more ready than he was.[break][break]

His eyes glanced around, not really sure what he was looking for; or who. The dark-haired boy was told to meet someone here. He shrugged and took a seat at a nearby bench. All he could think about was defeating Team Rocket and becoming a champion. A small sigh escaped his mouth. He was so close in Kanto, earning six badges only for his progress to be stripped right from his hands.[break][break]

Leonard sat quietly alone and awaited his acquaintance, hopefully they weren't running late as he was ready to get started.

[attr="class","post"]it reaches a point when marcel can't help but think one of two things must be going on: rocket were playing him a fool and sending him on a futile task, or something was up. of course, there was a third (that things were simply quiet), but he knew what those league folk were like. they didn't like leaving men behind.

his noivern's seemed to catch onto his train of thought, and is looking at him expectantly. he holds her gaze as he thinks, before nodding his head. "go and scout the area."

with that she went,= stealthily despite her size, talons digging into the ceiling. should she find anyone who wasn't a rocket, she'd attack. loudly enough to catch the attention of her trainer. marcel quietly waited where he was, relaxed, but not so much so that he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.

t wasn't long before someone else made their presence known. The girl had approached Leonard and asked if they had a visual of something. He stared at her for a moment, blankly. Was this who he was suppose to meet? Why else would she come up to him and that be the first question asked. Shrugging, the young league member went with it.[break][break]

"I don't see anything out of the ordinary," he replied. She then went ahead and let him know she had a Cutiefly that could scout ahead, which sounded like a superb idea. "That sounds great actually and my name is Leonard!" Standing up, a smile came across his face as he put his thumb to his chest. She seemed nice and would be pleasant to work with, so hopefully they could find what they were looking for without any problems. However, problems and Slateport City were the perfect combination.

“Give me a moment,” she breathed out, rummaging around in her coat before pulling out a pink Love Ball, popping it to full size and popping it open.[break][break]

Hoping that the noise wasn’t going to be too loud, he then watched the thinnest stream of red light flit out and it took a few moments before the little feather-light touch made a beeline…right for her nose.[break][break]

Some habits really did die hard, after all.[break][break]

“Yes, Carina, hi,” she continued softly—and for a few seconds the little dual-type was surprised. But thankfully, recognizing her owner’s voice, she let out the tiniest of hums.[break][break]

“Go fly ahead for us, will you? Hopefully nobody spots you… if you do get spotted, then that’s the time you can defend yourself,” she added before the lightest of touches departed her nose—and heard a little humming noise as the Cutiefly flew forward.[break][break]

“To be fair, they’re among the tiniest Pokémon, so it should work. She’s one of my smartest ones, so no need to worry,” she continued in Leonard’s direction. “I… just get ready in case something comes by, though…”[break][break]

The little Cutiefly flitted forward, humming as she rode through the air, eyes alert and on the lookout for something—anything that would be of interest to her.[break][break]

Who knew how long it was going to take before she would be spotted by whatever was up ahead…

[attr="class","post"]vega does not simply watch, she listens. she crawls across the ceiling, ultrasonic waves paving the way. anything that moved, that disturbed the regular pattern on waves she focused wholly on, would set off her radar. she crosses the five-metre mark when that something comes.

it takes her a while to find the culprit. had it not been for the instinctive faith in her hearing she may have given up and moved on. more waves, more searching, and a cutiefly finds itself under her gaze. it seems hardly a threat, but she wants to have some fun.

the dragon pokemon is not her trainer, nor is he here to order her, so she does not stop to consider its movements. her eyes narrow, and she soundlessly opens her mouth.

she was so damn late. it was almost... disgusting! Bee hoofed it to the location, seemingly passing by a few people who openly stared at the league cadet. this was totally not how she wanted to be remembered. would she get a demerit for this? oh gods. but she was here wasn't she? that was good and - oh shit.

fire was bad.

"c'mon" she dug around in her pocket for her pokeballs and released her scizor. said flames was going at the cutiefly, the little bug perhaps unprepared to deal with that stuff. with a flash of light, the bug-steel type would rush forward using quick attack to gain ground. shooting itself in front of the cutiefly, he'd take the direct hit of the force. Bee had no idea what was going on, but she wasn't going to let a fight happen right here!
